Jan passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at her residence reaching the age of 54 years 2 months and 18 days after a courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma. “Mama Jan” was known for so many things in her community. To her friends and family, she was the first to come when help was needed or they just needed some advice. To her co-workers, she was their “sister” always there for each and every one of them. To her patients, she was right on time, making many home visits as she was widely known to have the best “poke” around. To her husband and daughters she was everything. She always had a smile and hug for everyone she passed. She loved to cook, share her recipes with others, entertain groups of people, and loved traveling with Marlin to spend time with their daughters. Jan was known as everyone’s “Mama Jan,” helping many young people over the course of her years. Jan was a strong woman and always had a positive outlook towards life with a smile that lit up the room and a heart that did so much good. Jan is survived by her husband Marlin of Primghar; two daughters, Breanne Wittrock of McCook Lake, South Dakota and Jenna Wittrock of North Liberty, Iowa; her mother Daisy Blazek of Paullina, Iowa; two grand-puppies, Lilly and Sphinx; two brothers, Mike Blazek and Pat and his wife Polly Blazek of Apollo Beach, Florida; also other relatives, her many “other” children and many close friends. Jan was preceded in death by her father Roy Blazek.
