Nadine Lindstrom Straub was born in rural Paullina, Iowa to Amos and Signa (Carlson) Lindstrom on July 16, 1927. She lived her childhood days on a farm south of Paullina. She graduated from Paullina High School in 1944 and after graduation attended Coe College for two years.

On October 24, 1948, she married Edmund Straub, they lived on a farm east of Paullina. On March 8, 1966, Edmund passed away. She was left with three small children, which she felt was worth more than all the gold in the world. After the children were grown Nadine worked at the Sutherland Care Center as a cook. She loved cooking and baking for her children and grandchildren. She also loved mowing the lawn and caring for her flowers. Her life was centered around her children and grandchildren.

Nadine is survived by two sons and one daughter, Tim and Diane Straub of Peterson, Iowa, Tom and Crystal Straub of Milford, Iowa and Gretchen and Dan Funk of Spencer, Iowa. Also six grandchildren, Krista Straub, Aric Straub, Kyla Alsman, Harmony Straub, Jeremiah Straub and Kalei Funk; four step grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Tyler Straub, Matthew Howe, Austin Alsman and Landon Straub. She also has two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
