EARL D. HIBBING
Earl was baptized on November 21, 1937 and later confirmed on June 1, 1952 and was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. While in high school Earl enjoyed music which he carried on after high school playing the trumpet in Merle Kuehl’s dance band for five years. In later years he sang in the Zion Lutheran Choir. He liked to bowl and did bowl a 300 game. He enjoyed playing cards and being on the family farm. Earl was very mechanical and was able to fix about anything. In his younger years he worked on go-carts with many of his neighbors. He and Nancy in 1983 helped with compiling the Paullina Centennial history book and in later years both volunteered at the SOS Office in Primghar.
Earl is survived by his wife Nancy Hibbing of Paullina; two sons, David and Lisa Werkmeister of Mankato, Minnesota and Dennis and Nelda Werkmeister of Paullina, Iowa; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law law, Verla Hibbing of Paullina, Iowa; two nephews and one niece, Mark and Jonie Hibbing, David and Janelle Hibbing and Judy and Ron Waggoner all of Paullina, Iowa; the couple’s cat, Einstein; also other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert in infancy, and Clarence and one sister, Gladys Thoms.
